Christ

All of us are broken. All of us need healing. All of us desire truth, beauty, goodness, & unity.

God knew this.

That is why He sent us Son Jesus for you & me. Jesus taught.
Jesus died & destroyed sin & death so that we might live forever.
Jesus started a Church so that His Eternal Life might be shared with you.

He founded the Catholic Church to have a personal relationship with you in Scripture, His Sacraments, and prayer.
Christ’s sanctifying grace & His Life remain in the Sacraments of the Catholic Church.

Baptism

Jesus is God, so He is perfect. He did not need to be baptized. Yet, He chose to be baptized to cleanse the waters of the earth so that we could pass through the same waters, be baptized, & joined to His life. Baptism is the gateway into His Sacramental Life of grace. Baptism liberates us, purifies us, gives us His life, and leads us to the promised land of Heaven. Please get in touch with us if you or your children want to receive this Sacrament to receive Jesus' life in you!
Baptism

Reconciliation

None of us are perfect. We fall short in our relationship with God & with each other. Yet Jesus again gives us a new start & His life in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. When Jesus died on the Cross, He destroyed sin & death. He has forgiven us through His Resurrection. In Reconciliation, we who have turned away from Him & committed sin receive His peace & forgiveness. We have already been forgiven. In Reconciliation, we receive His forgiveness so that we may have His peace & life in our souls.

Reconciliations are heard in every church at the times given in the hourly cards above.

Reconciliation

Holy Communion

When Jesus ate His last supper on this earth, He gave us two tremendous Sacraments. First & foremost, He gave us His very Flesh & Blood to eat & drink. This is known as Holy Communion. We celebrate Holy Communion at every Mass said, 364 days per year. Jesus said in John chapter 6 that whoever eats His Flesh & drinks His Blood will live forever. Jesus is not a liar. He sanctifies us with His very Body & Blood in the Blessed Sacrament. (Holy Orders) Christ also gave us His priesthood at that Last Supper. Every priest gives up his own life to allow Christ to work through Him so that God’s People may receive Jesus in the Sacraments of the Catholic Church.

Confirmation

In Confirmation, like the Apostles at Pentecost, we receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Confirmation makes us warriors for Christ & completes our baptisms. We are called to preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary, use words. We preach the Gospel and are apostles for Christ by living like Him in our world. It doesn’t matter if you are a farmer, housewife, business person, teacher, single, widowed, retired, priest, nun, or whatever……we are all called by the Sacrament of Confirmation to be apostles of Jesus in our particular walks of life. Confirmation gives us the fullness of the Holy Spirit so that we may have confidence & conviction in all that we do. The Father, Son, & Holy Spirit live in us and work through us for our own good & sanctification.

Communion

When you have a best friend, you want the friend to experience everything that you experience. This is why people stay connected with friends on the phone, over coffee or lunch, through notes, texts, social media, etc.

Christ begs us to stay connected and live in communion with Him. He sees you as a best friend. He longs to be in your heart. We can reject Him with our choices. We can let Him in with our choices. We have some wonderful opportunities in our parish to know Christ better through study, entertainment, and prayer.

Here are a few of them that are given to you.

CCD

CCD is our religious education & formation program from youth grades K-12. It stands for the “Confraternity of Christian Doctrine,” but you really don’t need to know that (hardly anyone does!).

All you need to know is that your kids will be given the basics in a relationship with Jesus by committed & loving volunteer teachers. We use curriculum from the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln. Always remember as parents you are the first & best teachers of the faith for your children.

We meet on Wednesdays from 6pm-7:15pm during the school year at Paul Prellwitz Hall & end with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the church.

Contact our Religious Education Coordinator Georgann Friedrichsen (402-300-0937) to learn more, get your kids enrolled, or volunteer.

Here is our curriculum that we use that can also be used at home:

Formed

Would you like a free streaming service from the parish to strengthen your relationship with Christ? Formed.org is given to you for the whole family. It is the world’s largest Catholic streaming service. Continue your relationship with Christ with Bible studies, movies, biographies on saints, prayer tips, cartoons, faith series, and more.

Simply go to www.formed.org, click on “Formed for Parishes”, go to ‘Find Your Parish Subscription’, search ‘68352’, then put in your email and there you have it.

The streaming service is updated weekly so there will be fresh, wholesome, and holy entertainment for all ages to help you live in communion with Jesus Christ.

Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

In a world that never sleeps, we all need a silent place to pray.

Jesus invites us to spend quality, quiet time with Him in the Exposition & Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. We have Adoration in the church from 12:00pm to 7:15pm every Wednesday.

Come to relax and simply be with the Lord. There is no greater peace found in letting Christ adore you, His child, in a Holy Half Hour or Hour of Adoration. His amazing grace will help you know of His love for you, and you will experience His peace which is beyond all understanding.

Sign up for some time with Christ here, or stop on in at your convenience on a Wednesday!
